The studio of artist Barbara Zech is a fully equipped ceramic studio, located south of Broad Ripple on 54th Street near Keystone Ave. Enjoy a private studio setting with individualized instruction in a casual, welcoming space.

Note: In order to offer one-day workshops, we will use underglazes designed for painting wet clay pieces. Each piece will be glazed with a clear, food-safe, glossy glaze in the final kiln firing.

Happiness is... Coil Pottery
Wednesday October 24
6:30 — 9:00pm
Enjoy the healing aspects of this clay technique, and create a primitive pot for use, or a raw expression in clay. We will make and underglaze the wet clay pot all in one evening. The instructor has dug clay in Africa to make traditional coil pots, and will share stories about cultural experiences handbuilding pottery.
All levels welcome, perfect for beginners.
One-Day workshop. Finished work ready for pick-up within 2-3 weeks.
Cost includes clay, glaze, firing.
$50 per participant

Slab-built Vessels
Wednesday November 7th
6:30 — 9:00pm
Learn how to use clay slabs to form cylinders and trays for kitchen utensils, serving food, and more.
All levels welcome, perfect for beginners.
One-day workshop. Cost includes clay, glaze, firing. Finished work ready for pick-up within 2-3 weeks.
$50 per participant

Holiday Ornaments
Wednesday November 14th
7:00 — 8:00pm
Make ornaments as gifts, gift toppers, stocking stuffers, or for your own tree! Use simple slab techniques to make and paint a special holiday ornament. Templates and cookie cutters provided, or bring your own shapes.
All levels welcome, perfect for beginners.
One-Day workshop. Cost includes clay, glaze, firing. Finished work ready for pick-up in 2 weeks.
$40 per participant, to make up to six ornaments.
